WHERE IT COMES FROM

Carnauba wax comes from the leaves of the Copernicia cerifera palm, with a large portion of carnauba production taking place in northeastern Brazil, particularly Piauí and Ceará.

The palm naturally develops a waxy coating on its leaves that helps protect them in the region's hot, seasonally dry environment, including by helping reduce water loss.

The wax is obtained from the leaves rather than requiring the palm itself to be cut down, allowing the plant to continue growing and producing new leaves.
